“My Home”

“My Home”

A Poem by Shineheemi
"

When You feel safe in the dark, when you’re not scared to walk alone.

"
I took a bath, now i am cleansed.
As I entered the room, I could smell the sweet scent of a candle light.
I could feel the vibe, I’m alone... but I could feel that there’s someone watching me.
Dressing myself up, thinking how tough my day was, and at the end of the day, everything was done fine.
I turned off the lights, and still could see the bright things.
I sat on the bed, looking in our backyard through this windows that has dark color and thick cloth tied up in both sides.
I could hear nothing but just the sounds of the mosquitoes flying around me, the wind from the electric fan, the dogs barking outside and just dancing leaves tapping each other beside my bed.
I took a deep breath, “Jesus, it was a great day. thank you.” Imma gonna lay down on my bed, covering myself with a thin blanket while my eyes closed.
I took another deep breath, feeling comfortable, you know.. the feeling... when you’re praying and you feel like he’s with you, smiling, although my day was tough, I feel so heavy, but every night I feel safe, secured and just fine, like someone is waiting for me to talk to him somewhere quiet, with my heart and mind.
Truly, I wish everyone could feel this way too.
I want to let them know...
what a home is,
who the home is,
where the home is, and;
where they truly belong.
I believe I could sleep well tonight, not just because I prayed, but because.... I feel like, God is beside me, listening to me talking without a word and tapping my thin shoulder until I fall asleep, and... this... is PEACE.

God is a constant friend who shares my days & nights . . . you've described exactly how it feels when one has come to an understanding that works for one's life . . . it's like coming home, just as you say. Some people feel they have no home, but there's always one . . . it's a feeling of contentment, just as you say. Not always glorious, not always tough, but a mix of everything. I love that you present a balanced picture of how it feels when one has had a tough day & that toughness doesn't just magically disappear, but it's a gradual thing, the more we immerse ourselves in the state of mind that makes us feel balanced again. Such emotional intelligence in this poem! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Such a nice piece of writing dear shineheemi
There's a very famous quote in India that you don't need words to connect with God, he can understand us in our silence too. This write up reminded me of it. Keep it up :)
