“Period of Rest”

When you’re tired enough for another unclear things.

A Period of Rest, 

for you who are already tired,

 tired enough to try,

 tired enough of making mistake, 

and tired enough to make the same mistake again and again...

 and again, again 

A Period of Rest,

 for you who keeps on trying your best, 

best that could lift your life up, 

best that could help them,

 best that you cannot prove, 

best that no one wants to see.

A Period of Rest, 

for you who says “I’m done”, 

Done of faking a smile, a laugh, 

Done of introducing yourself to someone not interested,

 Done of defending and explaining yourself, 

Done of pleasing others, 

Done of buying other’s attention,  

Done of wearing mask, cap, long sleeves, pants, socks and jacket, 

Done of hiding things,

 Done of being sad and hopeless,

 Done of being tired,

 Done of giving a care,

 Done of worrying, 

Done of thinking too much, 

And Done of torturing yourself.  

A Period of Rest, 

a space for both you and me, 

a time for myself, 

a time for yours. 

A Period of Rest, 

for God who’s waiting above.

 A Period of Rest...

to finaly have a peaceful living with him looking from heaven.

Always a restful mindset to not be in that posture of insecurity. I’m desiring to grow in the simplification of my speech in interpersonal relationships.

You listed a lot of other “done” statements that I resonated with but that one hit the hardest for me.

This is incredibly intelligent writing! You are so right, we go thru life doing this crazy dance, doing what's expected of us in all the deliciously specific & futile ways you depict . . . until we realize it's time to pause our marionette way of bopping thru life in a reactive way . . . best part are all the ways you describe the things we all fall under the influence of & we don't really come alive in life until we pause (& it can take years) to shake off all this misdirected junk (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
