The Special SurpriseA Poem by CStansfieldYou might have had this very special experience that's like no other when you were a child.Waiting in the living room for the surprise I can’t take it anymore please oblige And tell me what all this fuss is about I’m done with this shroud Of mystery and waiting Maybe they’re just baiting My siblings and I Oh, I hope it ain’t a lie They bring out a box wrapped up so nice And in our minds we’re rolling the dice What could it be? I don’t know, let’s see! We open it up and tucked inside Were some t-shirts trying to hide It’s not them themselves but what’s written on them They say “big sister” and “big brother” And my mother Snuggles us up tight and tells us, “A baby is coming” And our hearts excitedly humming, Our family gathers close to discuss We are a lucky family To have this new baby We are so excited For the baby surprise © 2022 CStansfieldAuthor's Note
