Escaping The StormA Poem by CStansfieldThis poem really tells you about what people, especially young children, feel like when a hurricane or other storm hit their area. The people outside trying to escape, and all the stress and worrying.I sat in the open room safe and sound Trying to stay away safe from the storm The clashing and banging was all around I still had to wait long until the morn. Sitting there, knowing people were outside Is extremely disturbing in my mind The sirens and shouts and yelps all collide I sit wishing that I were deaf and blind The storm blew harder against the building But no one escaped the wrath of the storm It blew faster, harder things were tilting I hid further, it was starting to form I have heard a jubilant shout at last It seems that everyone has been held fast © 2021 CStansfieldAuthor's Note
