Throne of Emotion

Throne of Emotion

A Poem by Shimmy
"

Forbidden love between a prince and a common girl.

"
For once, we could have been possible
For once, our hands could have entwined
For once, we could have imagined a future together
For once, you were mine and I was yours

You may be a prince, ruling the world
With a flick of your fingers, you give order
But in your grand, extravagant palace, you are alone
A lonely prince, yearning for love

The most powerful man in my world could not claim me
Not me, never me
A normal country girl, never meant for loyalty, could never have a prince
A lonely sweet prince could never have me

Yet we stole each others hearts
I discovered that the ruler of the world has the most softest , sensitive heart
hiding behind the stone cold facade.

The only way to claim me is leaving behind the throne.
One thing is certain: his heart resides in me
I am his home, his peace
In his chaotic world, I am his calmness
In another world I am his and he is mine
Not in this world never in this world.

Quite the conundrum, when one thinks on it. It's a tale that's been told before. The Royalty and the Peasant...never the twains shall meet. An English Prince once gave up his claim to the throne of England to marry the woman of his choice. He was shunned by the royal family. He gave up everything for the woman he loved, and he lived a happy life.
There's no sadder tale than that of dear Romeo and sweet Juliet, two star crossed lovers.
I truly enjoyed this tale of yours, but, then again, I'm nothing but an old romantic.
Have a wonderful day.
P.S. You wrote "We stole each other hearts." You need to add an s to the word other. It should be others.
Good work.
