Chapter 1: The Burning

Mesar and Kalia (i) find a strange book.

"Why does everything I care about get taken away from me?" I say sobbing as I watched my beautiful house in Missouri burn.

I see my older brother William and pull him out of the house before the house fell down in flames. "Will! Answer me! Don't die.... You can't die!" I screamed into his chest just as an ambulance pulled up.

The paramedics pulled him into the ambulance. Mesar and I followed.
(A/N: this is actually a sort of fun story sorry 'bout the sad parts)

We waited in the waiting room until the nurse asked us " Are you William Kasne (A/N: lol Kasne stands for King Arthur's Sword Named Excaliver) siblings?"

"Yes...." I say so Mesar could come back with me.

"Come right this way."

We followed the nurse into room 211.

"Oh my gosh! Is he gonna be okay?" I say sacredly.

"We don't yet know darling. The fire did quite a number on his lungs."

'I'm glad this is a charity hostpital. Because I don't have any money.' I thought looking at my brother's blonde hair, brushing it out of his face so I can see how bad the fire got him.

"Kalia...." he moaned.

"Will!"

"I'm dying....but...before...I...die...promise..me......something..."

"Yes. Anything." Mesar and I say. I started to cry.

"Find....Dad.............."

I watched the heart monitor line go flat. I sobbed harder.

"I know what will cheer you up." Mesar said while rubbing my back.

"What?"

"If we went to see if there are any pictures or anything in your house?" when it came out it sounded more like a question.

"Yeah... Okay."

Btw just thought I'd let y'all know that Mesar lived with Kalia's family. And ignore errors. Hope you liked it.

Strong opening. Very dramatic death, wish it was drawn out more. The scene feels like it needs to be fluffed up a bit. I wish it was longer.
