The Path of Shadows: A NocturneA Poem by wordiggeroneDark thoughts, it is a nocturne, associated with night, darkness, dread.Like an embryo in the internal light, I float To the light. The city swarms up in a
cloud of glow-worms Dark misgivings connive at my dread and
gloat Wallowing in my hapless mortal norms.
Tall posts wash up to the nocturnal
shore This little island of yellow gleam I
reach My breath eases, unsealing my lungs
so sore! Senses sway in limbo o’er the breach…
A little pause, constellations swirl
down Closed doors and windows line the
crested waves Brazen moon rocks over the dreaming
town A Silver gloss weaves through dead
enclaves.
Blue fear, sleek, feline, Slithers up the moon’s ravine. A jaundiced leer, a secret concubine Sends an arrow of cold up Earth's mortal spine. © 2014 wordiggerone |
