BEING THE VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS

A story of my social life.

Hello Folks! My name is Shikhar Soni.

I happen to run an NGO named Navoday Group. The idea of doing the best for our underprivileged popped in my mind when I was surfing through youtube and I came across a video in which a person was helping poor people and since then the video started revolving in my mind and it was then when I decided to do social work and help poor people. I got my foot in the door when I was 16. When I decided to follow my hunch, I wanted to do something for those people not because everyone does it, because It calms my soul. It was Christmas eve when I along with my friends distributed chocolates and pastries with our own pocket money and the smiles in return were priceless. After this activity we started to celebrate many festivals with these children like gifting them diyas and clothes on diwali. We started getting support and from other people so by this support we started doing this activities more often according to the fund we had. Gradually we also started to empower women of slums by spreading the awareness regarding menstruation and other related topics,also we supported the unemployed by giving them employment.We had started with a bunch of 4 friends and now we are a family of 40 member who work for betterment of poor people,also spread awareness and we named this family as NAVODAY GROUP with motto of "BEING THE VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS". We also started projects in support of government like SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN, reducing the plastic usage,climate change issues,tree plantation.Recently when the malady has cordoned us from all the sides, we delivered food to about 2000 rightful people and also arranged vehicle for the way back to their home for people who came to town from their villages. Till now we have reached to about 15000 poor people and helped them.

We have only one rule that never demand the fund from the donor. We have managed all this projects in the fund which we have and also sacrifice our pocket money for this kind of activities.We are always open for those who want to work with us and there is no eligibility to join this family.
