Chapter 1: The Beginning

As I looked out onto the field, strewn with the bodies of many of my fallen comrades, I realized that the battle was far from over. Merely boys, these bodies had once been, bursting with the exuberance that could only be the youth that now escaped me in the unending days of my life. I could only barely remember the days when I had been considered a boy. All those years ago, I had no notion whatsoever that one day I would stand on the balcony of my isolated fortress and behold the sight before my eyes. I turned away from the scene of such wrath, barely able to stomach the men I once cheered with whenever we experienced a victory together lying on the ground, their bodies twisted into gruesome shapes. I must warn you, friend, for I am about to unleash upon you the whole of my life. The travels I have traveled, the miles I have walked, the battles I have fought, and the victories I have earned. This tale is not for the faint of heart, so if you are weak of mind and weaker of stomach, I suggest you put the book down, stand up, and look for a lighter read. Perhaps something about ponies and rivers, I don’t know. This story obviously begins with my birth, of course I will spare you the details, but, I will start with my childhood. I was born on May the 28th, 1483 (No, you didn’t read that wrong, I am five hundred and twenty-nine years old. Hurray for me, I outlived everyone, back to the flipping story.), to a Mr. and Mrs. Jameson, a lovely couple who were actually doing quite well financially. As a growing young lad, I had everything a proper young boy during that time period could want: a warm bed to sleep in, raised in a good house, loving parents. I was, in all my rights, a proper young man. Until my 13th birthday, that is. Now, let me just say, before that day, I was not prone to insane events in my life. In fact, with my ‘proper young lad’ lifestyle, I was more normal than most other boys. But that day changed my life forever. Literally.

A very captivating read so far. I'd love to see chapter 2 soon! It would be a lot better, though, if the font wasn't so big. Otherwise, the story so far is interesting! :)
