River's Aria

River's Aria

A Poem by Shibui
"

A nature poem.

"

Setting amber sun follows my descent

Walking the lush plains of southern vale

On a lone mound a heartful swell

Embraced by flame in flower’s bloom

Honeyed dew on blushing petals

Press sweet flavors to my lips

And on warm winds through cliff-side crevasse

Aria carried from on high repletes

Lilting notes call waters spill

Rushing along soft banks to waiting pool

Valley quakes at prodigious release

I fall damp with scent of spring

Sun shines and warms my cheek with gentle kiss of rays

Till Heaven sighs to call me home to hills and fallow fields
