Drought

Drought

A Poem by Shibui
"

A poem about the difficulties of farm management.

"
Feet tread browned pastures 'neath gray colored sky
Downhill all my orchards rot into dust
Clouds blown past the peaks yield twinkling void
I look in longing where your star would shine.

I slink away home and crumble to bed
Ghost lain beside me to shorten my sleep
For life that we led and life that I live
Rose on temple lie with final farewell
Across the high mounds find heavier rains
There be unburdened our joys and sorrows.
