Million Splendid StarsA Poem by ShhhhA very figurative poemA million splendid stars, but he laid his hazel eyes on the most dim one he could find, for the lack of luminescence, created a rarity such as that of a pure diamond stone made gently by the holiest touch of a blessed angel. He cherished this star, fascinated and intrigued in its exuberance; and it seemed as if the star acknowledged his presence too, shining its brightest sporadically as he looked its way.
Yet, as the the pages of time flew by, the star began to falter, withering as that of a youthful love which once flourished with intoxicating passion. With every darkness, the star seemed to fade and dissipate into the night sky, but he persevered, waiting relentlessly, hoping he could capture any glimpse of its rare beauty. After a while, he felt cheated and beguiled for the fascination and passion he held for this precious wonder did not seem to correspond to the incandescent shimmer it used to display the first few months he observed it. He wished to come to a halt, yet his passion would not cease. He was consumed by a recurring thought relentlessly, "Millions of stars in the twilight sky, and out of all, you're the one who came to be" © 2013 ShhhhAuthor's Note
