PushA Poem by ShhhhStarted off as a poem yet I began getting inspired to write a story around this...
"Don't you ever look back," my parents would say.
"Push, from night till day," But I can't anymore, my willpower has crumbled beneath my feet It abandons me on the desolate, barren ground; alone, confused, bawling relentlessly Working 12 excruciating hours per day yet the money doesn't meet My mind slowly deteriorates, permitting my pains and aches to get the best of me I envy the rich, not because of the meaningless wealth, but because of the little value placed on things They don't know how it feels to see your growing baby boy only one hour a day They don't know how to suffer; how to spread those miraculous, angelic wings They don't know the gut wrenching feeling of reading: FORECLOSURE NOTICE: Debt be paid by May My dry, calloused hands cannot bare this tedious torture anymore My sanity is fleeing, I can't stand seeing my wife in such deep depression So I wash every window and scrub every goddamn filthy floor Just to make ends meet, to finally quit this goddamn recession And ever since then, I have never looked back
