Something Special

Something Special

A Poem by Sunny

One for each of the demons I've cuddled,

One for each of the bugs I've killed,

One for each of the people who didn't like me,

One for the vampire in my mirror,

One for the shadow with no owner which I sometimes see,

One for the each of the trees I've hurt climbing into,

One for each person I've ever spoken too,

One for each monster that's lived under my bed,

One for each cloud that looks like a person,

One for each spider I try to get outside before my sister can kill,

One for the creek I love to play in,

One for the cat who clawed my breast and hip and shoulder,

One for the girl who used to cut,

One for the boy who told me he loved me even though I told him I didn't love him the same way,

One for each writer who touched my emotions,

One for each emotion I've tried to tuck into a stone,

One for each song I say that I love,

One for the boy who teases me but makes great conversation over everything,

One for the people who love me,

One for the people who hate me,

One for each born empath,

One for each killer,

One for each teacher who hates kids,

One for the ghost I've yet to meet in person,

One for the halo of light around certain people,

One for the goblin in the forest behind my house,

One for Death and the horses pulling their carriage.
