Law of Drama

Law of Drama

A Chapter by Sheryll McKenzie
"

For all of those abused!

"

It’s too late

You can’t stop me

I’m too great

Oh don’t you see, boy?

I could use
the support from you

But you won’t give it when you’re such a fool

Oh, I used to sit down and around,
feeling all alone

I had no place, oh nowhere, nowhere to call home

I let everyone bully me until the tears would fall

But oh, no, not today, I’ve had enough

I’ll rise up from the smoke and fire,
I will freeze the wound, don’t call me a liar

I used to say, oh, no, it’s okay, okay, okay

But it wasn’t ever, was it?

No, boy, was it?

Everything would go terribly,
and I’d die away

It’s too late

You can’t stop me

I’m too great

Oh don’t you see, boy?

I could use
the support from you

But you won’t give it when you’re such a fool

But I’ve had enough of letting them get to me,
I’d usually grieve, but I’m too relieved to be free

They’d laugh, they’d cackle, to see me down,

They would smile, they once,

I couldn’t beat them by a mile

Oh yeah, boy

But I keep getting this good feeling in my bones,
seeing if I try hard enough, I won’t be alone

But is it true? It can’t be

I’ve been through too much you see

They keep rushing me, hurting me,
playing with my soul and me

A wrecking-ball right in the heart

It’s too late

You can’t stop me

I’m too great

Oh don’t you see, boy?

I could use
the support from you

But you won’t give it when you’re such a fool

But I’ve had enough of letting them get to me,
I’d usually grieve, but I’m too relieved to be free

Did they know about a law, a law called karma?
I guess, I guess not, they just knew the Law to Drama

I’ve had enough of watching them blow me away,
I’ve had enough of their, their inflicted pain today

Oh my goodness, I feel so much more free to be me,
now that I would’ve survived anyway

Here I look at the freedom in my hands, my lips,
and I feel like I’m fixed

But I keep getting this good feeling in my bones,
seeing if I try hard enough, I won’t be alone

But is it true? It can’t be

I’ve been through too much you see

They keep rushing me, hurting me,
playing with my soul and me

A wrecking-ball right in the heart

It’s too late

You can’t stop me

I’m too great

Oh don’t you see, boy?

I could use
the support from you

But you won’t give it when you’re such a fool

But I’ve had enough of letting them get to me,
I’d usually grieve, but I’m too relieved to be free
