A Woman

A Woman

A Poem by Sherry McCormick
"

I wrote this poem after reading a poem titled, 'I'm glad I'm a Man'.

"
A Women
I'm glad I'm a woman, don't mind if I say
Feeling free to express my feelings each day
I feel no need to knock your masculinity
to secure more confidence in my own femininity
When I feel blue my friends lend an ear
Feel better now, after shedding a tear
Like to be happy, don't like to be blue
Sharing life's pleasures
is what best I do
I like to dress up and go shopping for clothes
The sound of a bird and the smell of a rose
The theatre, an opera, a musical show
Celebrate friendship, wherever we go
Don't mind when you write about being a man
Say you're a baseball and hockey sports fan
But when you start talking about women like you do
I'm glad I'm woman, not a redneck like you!
