Time & Tide

Time & Tide

A Poem by Sherin Rose Thoppil

Time &Tide

Reason evacuates

Believes fade off

Words delude the real

Suffocating fear

Gist of life long forgotten

Burdening it becomes, the mere existence

Tear the expression of a dissolving self

Overwhelming it is, the flood of thoughts

But times passed persuades

Times yet to come, the pleasure, the grief

Will tide off the shore once and for all

Perceive emptiness as ever existing

Though rare it is to treasure

The cool breeze of the summer nights

An illusion of the moving waves and horizon

The shining sand under the star lit sky

Beauty in its best, the passed by moments brought in

Survive in the nothing, as if it is the synonym

Of the emptiness that is all consuming

A passerby who rushed on

In fetch of the wonders time has in store

Stopped by and Inhaled

The fresh, the real, the mysterious, the momentary

Somewhere ahead looked back

Just to realize the time was kind

As he could take with the depth of the sense

And the strength of the fulfilling warmth
