Leaves falling from a dying treeA Poem by Sherbs Dreaming Tree Of PoetryAs the leaves crisp And the green slips away The sharp wind creeps in Crawling up the backs of the feeble and the weak
Breaking their backs through the summer To feed their families Through blistering heat And droughts of a necessary evil
They now feel the chill set in their bones The fields will be crippled soon
Now is the time to work To work through the cold Until they drop down to the dirt Like leaves from a dying tree © 2011 Sherbs Dreaming Tree Of PoetryReviews
