Deaths cold embraceA Poem by Sherbs Dreaming Tree Of PoetryIcy breath Numb fingertips Chest tightening Like a lovers final embrace Fading words Ringing in your ears
A ghostly shadow Lingers forth A look of grimace and malice Coming into focus A skeletal figure Covered only by black silk robes
Lifes nemesis And a dying mans wish
Heartbeat slows As his shadow shortens You feel his presence
Satans right hand man beckons you Falling to your knees Begging for time As you feel his breath on your face
His now outstretched hands near Gripping and releasing the air
His icy fingers grip Your shoulders So smooth
This is the final embrace And it is His
