"I wait for the day
When all this sick
Will make sense...
Can you just hold me until then?"
I loved this stanza. This poem is cute, but sad at the same time. I could relate to it. Wonderful write.
100/100 :)
Seems like the thoughts from the mind of an anorexic or bulomic, at least to me. Made it very powerful, especially with that irony of hurting someone with the act of doing something for them. And the ending with the ellipse, and then tthe question in the last two lines was great. The last two lines were the key, as far as structure goes. Because of the use of punctuation, they stood out from the rest of the stanza. The number two is emphasized because of the two lines, and this works because the number two often symbolizes duality in literature. And the punctuation itself underlined th espeaker's confusion, the questioning and uncertainty about the illness. This really helped to get across the fear of the speaker, as well. And the fact that there are three stanzas furhter emphasizes my interpretation as the thoughts of a person with an eating disorder, since the number three almost always emphasizes doom. Good, emotional poem. Thanks for the RR.
