The essence of funk

The essence of funk

A Poem by Sherbs Dreaming Tree Of Poetry

I feel that groove

The bass firing

The guitars'a screeching

The singer howling

Then the rolling beats

That Jazz drummer

Pounding the skins

Rattling the shells

The crowd in a frenzy

Free love flows

Hallucinations floating

Noone gives a damn

These halls

Are the essence of funk

Energetic, vivid images, full of life in all it's jagged glory... well done!

Brilliant stuff! Alive with vital imagery, yet so sparing with words. Talented.

Haha I like the last line. You get what music does to people.

Nothing better then good music and wild and crazy people. It always feel good to be around people with the same goal. A excellent poem. Strong words made the poem come alive.
