Captured by the embrace of love

Captured by the embrace of love

A Poem by Sherbs Dreaming Tree Of Poetry

We are all captured by the embrace of love,

That evil mefistress ,

She skulks in the darkest corners of our mind,

Waiting for it's moment to strike ,

Like a coiled cobra,

She will claim us for her very own ,

All has been lost,

Now she comes to destroy our last hopes,

That last shred of dignity,

Love would be fine,

So would hate,

If only we could love and hate the right people,

Everything would be ok,

Wouldn't it?

Love is like wine. We keep the bottle safe and protected. Will improve with time. Abuse and mistreat. Will sour and be useless. Love is timely and luck. Need two people at the same place wanting the same things. I like the complete poem. The ending was perfect. A excellent poem. Thank you.

Great job. Captures the inherent uncertainty and uncontrollability of love.

Sometimes we spend so long searching for the right person that we miss them when they finally come along. Love the catch at the end though, a hint of uncertainty which really intrigues me, and you are definitely not getting rusty.

"mefistress" is that deliberate or meant to be "mistress"? It kinda distracted me from the rest of what you had to say here. I like the questioning closing that invites readers to explore their thoughts on this topic. Good wordcrafting!

We always look for the right person. But sometimes, when the right person comes along, we eventually let them go. And wishes again to find the right one. Oh how complicated life can be...

I love your poem! True emotion as it is. Nicely done!

Good job!
