Patience.

Patience.

A Poem by Sheridyn

When I look at you, I smile.

I smile because I know your feelings about me.

I smile because your kindess is impossible to ignore.

I smile...

Because I know you can be mine.

But...

I realize I must wait.

I must wait for that day, when I finally come of age to be in a platonic relationship with you.

Middle school, high school...

Such a large gap, I know.

But age is but a number, or at least that's what 'they' say.

I suppose I should just muster up the patience or simply quit.

But quitting is not in my character.

I swear, I will try.

As long as you try too.
