A Change.A Poem by SheridynThis poem is about my "best friend" and I. She had been calling me nasty names behind my back, and turns out she was describing herself. There you go. You really thought I wouldn't catch you? All this time, I thought you were a completely different face than you are in reality. You had me wrapped around your finger; I would be there for you at the drop of a hat. When did that change? You had this candy facade you put on; a mask, only others could see through. I was completely oblivious to the fact. My name wasn't Sheridyn anymore. It was, 'backstabber', 'two-faced'. And there I was, feeling sorry for myself. But then the tables began to turn... And then YOU were the one left with a nagging pain in your conscience, telling you: "You should apologize. She was a great friend. Why can't you see that?" Yet, you ignored it. And, unfortunately, you still do. Your mask has been torn off, your facade see-through. No longer will I be in pain. No longer will you have power over me. Because, guess what? Sheridyn's back. © 2011 Sheridyn |
