Chapter 261-3
The Word No
Part 4
I found Jeff immediately waiting
for me in a town called Pierce Arizona near a Ghost Town Trail on near street
call Walnut Street a perfect name I thought considering the circumstances. It
was about 300 miles away from the building we had just left. The town was
nothing more than a few forgotten buildings. Not a lot of foot traffic, just a
couple of abandoned buildings, a perfect hideout for our bad guys.
Jeff had already scouted the location finding several guards about the place.
Not a big deal for Tony and his team as we waited for Tony to arrive by
helicopter, giving Jenny the go-ahead to take out the guards quickly, but
quietly. His ETA was about an hour, but Jeff wasn’t willing to wait that long,
and with Jenny patched in with Tony. She didn’t want to wait until he got here
either.
Tony reminded her that she should move with caution being aware of the kind of
traps we had encountered before. These men were dangerous; these men were high
up on the food chain, and we all wanted them bad. Right away I found several
traps that would have not only alerted them of our presence but would have
killed them instantly. Jenny nearly stepped on one if it wasn’t for Jeff and me
telling her to stop, hearing Tony’s voice over the radio watching her foot
hesitate from make a bad move. I found several others circling the perimeter of
the building itself as she backed away into the bushes of trees hiding her and
our team members.
Stringum and Dad cursed that we had them surround but couldn’t do anything
because of the booby traps, and it was taking too long for Tony to get there.
We were like sitting ducks as the sun was coming up and our window of surprise
was closing. However, Jeff and his friends were pissed off and wanted some payback.
They had helped with a whole bag of new tricks, with the help of Dora and Dr.
Sars and their friends. Tony was carrying several items that would eliminate
their problem quickly. Jeff and his friends having their own fun hearing
gunshots going off in the building; I heard Tony tell him to save some for us.
Getting the response can this chopper move any faster? Stating he was on edge
and wanted to get there and have some fun of his own.
I explained through Stringum and Tony about how and where the traps were set.
Hearing more gunshots over the radio every now and again; Jeff explained they
were playing poker with a twist. Stating that these idiots had no problem
letting themselves being manipulated, as his buddies were helping them do it. I
didn’t want to think about how the game was played, but Stringum and Tony were
very interested.
Mom and Dad gasped as Tony explained the rules through Jeff how the game was
played. The man holding all the cards to win the hand and the pot of money on
the table had to pick up the gun and spin the gun chamber that contained one
bullet. For him to win he had shown his cards and point the gun to his head and
pull the trigger. If it clicked empty he collects the pot he had just won, if
the gun goes off he loses. Meaning game over, Jeff friends were helping it
along by making sure that the chamber is never empty.
Mom's face turned white hearing the gunshot over the radio, Stringum marked the
board where it had the number of men that were in inside the building. He begged
Jeff to tell his friends not kill them too quickly so they all could get a
piece of them. Mr. Tate and Antonio were shouting at them telling them this is
not how grown man should act if they plan on taking over the world.
Tipping over the table and telling them they should get ready to leave within
the hour when their chopper lands to take them out of the country. However,
what they didn’t realize that chopper was never coming and no one was coming to
help them escape. Mr. Tate sent out his guards to take a nice long walk, only
to have them captured by us the moment they had crossed the line of their
defenses.
Jenny lined them like neat little packages placing hoods and gags over their
mouths, to keep them from talking and seeing anything when they woke up after
being tranq. What she didn’t know was most if not all those guys weren’t going
to wake up, and if they did they would be stark raving mad, and drooling seeing
imaginary monsters all around them courtesies of Jeff’s friends. They will
either be locked in some crazy ward for the rest of their lives or be taken
directly to hell personally by Jeff and his friends. I warned Stringum that
Jeff and his friends have no intention of them escaping, causing him to shrug
his shoulders stating; that there are plenty more where they come from and
personally if he was given the choice he pull the trigger personally.
Tony finally land about few miles down the road where he couldn’t be seen, the
only way in was for him to parachute in, which was another reason, Mom, Dad
said no to the idea of me joining them. Stringum and Tony tried to convince
them that it was perfectly safe and I would ride piggyback on Tony. Either way,
it wasn’t going to happen. There was no way they were going to explain to my
mother or too my grandmother that they allowed me to do it. They were in hot
water enough after finding out that I flew a private plane all by myself after
being kidnapped. The a*s chewing was still fresh on their minds.
So here I sat on the floor with my map as Jeff and I worked together with Tony
and Jenny on taking down our bad boys once and for all. I gave a tired yawn and
stretched my legs and my bodies after sitting there without a lot going on
waiting for Tony to say the word go, watching the sun coming over the mountains
from my window.
My mother entered the room with Mr. Kirkland to see what our ETA was since he
needed to be at the set getting morning shots of the bus picking up the kids
for school and some quick morning scenes of a perfectly normal neighborhood.
The moment my mother saw that my room had been turned into a command center and
remnants of some witchcraft or satanic ritual seeing the strange symbols on the
floor, the walls the windows and doors.
She went into total metal down, for as she knew Rhoda and I went to bed early.
Mom and Dad quietly took her out into the hall so Stringum and I wouldn’t be
bothered. Stringum suggested that we should tranq her, having Dora and Dr. Sars
asking and then what she would be twice as mad when she woke up. I agreed to
state that then we would have to have some babysit her or carry her from place
to place, not that we had enough on our plate as it were.
Mom and Dad came back in locking the door, said they had about an hour before
she would be back. Thinking they made the wise choice of not sending me with
Tony. Tony voice came back on over the radio said he was now in position. I
took my seat on the floor and focused my mind on the tasks which were tearing
down the hidden wall. Dora explained
over the radio to take out three bottles of the milky white mixture. And place
it in the spots that Jeff and I had indicated where the traps were.
We waited as he read off the cords that I had written down and where Jenny had
marked with red paint so he would know where each of these booby traps
connected to each other creating an indivisible wall. Once he confirmed the
marks, he was instructed to open the bottles and pour along the border until he
had large enough gap to let him and his men in. Then he was told to light the powder
on fire and wait until they no longer see the wall which the powder had
dissolved in a green fire that would climb up the wall and then destroy it
completely, and with the trap. However,
they had to be absolutely sure it was down before crossing, it.
Tony said. “Got it wait until….” The radio went off and men started to shout
and guns started to fire in a rapid rate. Jeff said the whole thing was a trap,
within a trap. I explained what was going on as Mom and Dad hands gripped each
other hearing the noise of cacaos, then nothing but silence in a matter of a
few minutes that seemed like forever.
Tony came back on stating they had everything under control, that didn’t have
any casualties, that the other buildings were decoys with hiding additional
men, but the moment they saw us there was a bright light then the next thing
they knew, the men were laying on the ground bubbling monsters are attacking
them and feeding off them.
Yet when they looked around they saw nothing, as Mr. Tate’s men were screaming
as if they were being torn apart. I had to give Jeff’s friends big thumbs up
when it comes to getting a little payback. Stringum asked what was on
everyone’s mind in regards to Mr. Tate and Antonio. Tony said over the CB dead
as a door-nail. They just stood there looking at us and then fell to the ground
dead, and turned to dust. Stringum looked at me and cussed, but I had warned
him that those two for sure weren’t going to escape, nor were they coming back
alive; that had other hells to enjoy and Stringum and our friends would have to
be satisfied with their own pound of flesh.
I was more than beat as I looked at the bed and wanting nothing more to climb
into it and sleep the rest of the day away, but that was never going to happen.
My mother soon came back as Stringum and his team were taking down their
command center and began planning out our day.
My mother said I had a lot of explaining to do; I squeezed her hand and
said. “When I get a minute Mom, but it could be while. Today, tomorrow and the
next day are very busy days for me.”
I made a quick call to Chef Phillips making sure he was on top of things back
home, and to make sure my grandmother was still getting her roses and surprise
packages today she would be spending the day at the hairdressers and getting
her nails done. Today she would be getting the dress that I had picked out for
her to wear to the Halloween party on Friday. Mom and my sisters, as well as
our wives, would be spending the day getting theirs done as well. The moment
they were no longer needed once we arrive back home.
I watched Stringum face the music as Rhoda and I were packing our things and
leaving the hotel lobby. Like always Stringum handled the problem with a large
fat envelope as the managers face brightened and placed the envelope into his
breast pocket and shook hands with Stringum and had the Bellboys take our bags
and load it into the awaiting cars while we sat down for a quick breakfast on
the house. Only to have Mr. Kirkland apologize and said maybe next time, having
the manager snap his fingers said to give him an hour and he have fresh
pastries, and assorted fruits ready to go.
Mr. Kirkland was about to disregard the offer but one look from Mr. Stringum
stated that he would be sorry. Stringum said. “Make it two hours and I’ll send
Landon back here to pick it up.” The manager nodded with a slight bow as if the
deal was struck. All Stringum said was it was a bad idea to start the day on
empty stomach, and besides, he had paid the manager I nice healthy sum of cash,
and he was determined to get his money worth.
