Chapter 212-2

First Time For Everything

Part 3

We woke to find her brothers snuggled up with us, she smiled as she placed the covers over them and patted their naked little bottoms. Telling me she really likes seeing us all naked. I snuggled closer and went back to sleep until Jeff popped in and woke me he said. “Troubles coming, Tony on his way, but you and the family needed to get the hell out of here.”

I blinked said; “you got to be kidding me?” Causing Patricia and the boys too stir.

I asked Jeff to tired to link. “How long do we have?”

Patricia asked. “Who are you talking to my little tiger?”

Jeff said. “1 hour maybe two. Those boys you got into a fight with and their parents and friends have just been informed and are rounding up a mob, for the hellfire that is about to come down on them for raping and bulling the Larson’s boys and many others.” The phone rang and the house started to go into a panic as I quickly got out of bed telling Patricia we needed to get the hell out of here.

She looked at me and blinked a few times. “O you’re so cute when you’re trying teases me?”

Her Dad raced down the stairs said. “Hurry, we are all in danger we need to get out of here. Officer Knox just informed me that some angry parents are out for blood because they just found out their boys are being accused of raping our boys and many others, wanting to take the law into their own hands. Demanding that we all drop the false charges or else. Now our best chances to get out before they block our road too prevents us from leaving undetected.”

Patricia blinked at me stupidly, I said. “You heard your Dad, let’s get while getting is good.” Ben and Darren ran down the stairs in robe nearly crashing into their sister and her two younger brothers Cal and Chris; then turned the corner running smack into Greg, Chad, and Eli, bumping heads and falling onto the floor at the foot of the stairs.

Her Mom was upstairs screaming for everyone to hurry, emptying the fridge and the freezer and as her husband loaded everything into their cars considering we weren’t coming back, or they weren’t coming back until Monday and she didn’t want anything to go to waste while they were gone. We are out the door in 45 minutes as Tony was pulling up to the side of the house with some of his team with Officer Knox. They said for us to follow them giving us a police escort of sorts. While the other officers were helping with the other boy's families that had been named on the list of boys that had been raped.

Santaquin was a very, small town with very few resources, at the time…. We were lucky if we had five cops, and two fire trucks and ambulance, which were all housed in the same building with a courthouse and the library down on Main Street. When we needed help we had to rely on Payson or Spanish Fork for help, and so on. It was like we lived on a deserted island. Which meant it would be a while before enough helped arrived.

Mr. Larson; handed Tony the keys to the house so his team could put in the new security system, Tony said teasing me placing the keys into his pocket.  “Everywhere you go you trouble follows you?”

Jenny punched him in the arm causing him to rub it. “You know it isn’t his fault, he had nothing to do with it, and nobody is after him, this time. He just happens to be here that’s all and you know it.”

I climbed into Patricia car with Eli, Greg, and Chad, while everyone else got into the other two cars. Jenny and Tony stayed here with her team, as we followed Officer Knox with his partner Chris out of town taking the side streets until we made a mad dash to a freeway gas station to fill up at the local truck stop just outside of Payson known as the Flying J, which included a small 24/7 hour diner to decide our next move.

The Larson lived on the North West side of town known as the outer limits were the there wasn’t a lot of new houses just empty fields and cherry orchards. Today Santaquin has changed a lot, now those outer limits these empty fields and cherry orchards are gone and have been replaced with several new houses. Including five or 6 LDS church houses and brand-new police station and fire station as well as courthouse and library. We have tripled the police force and… used to be that you be lucky to see a police car, now you see one all the time. Like life, everything changes regardless if you wanted it too our not.

While the men argued Mrs. Larson told the men they would be inside as they nodded and continued their discussion. The girls and we went inside the gas station finding the truck stop diner opened 24/7. By the time they came in paying for the gas, Mrs. Larson had already ordered our breakfast, powered her nose with the girls and made three phone calls to my adoptive parents and Sandy as well as Heidi’s parents.

She said before her husband made it back watching Officer Knox race back to his police pals, that we were going to have a nice hot breakfast drive to Heber as if whatever he was about to say wouldn’t matter. He took a seat and said. “I was just going to suggest that.”

She patted his cheek. “Sure you were dear? Now eat your breakfast.”

He said. “The girl’s families would be joining us the moment school let out for the weekend.”

She nodded said. “Yes I have already spoken to them, but I talked them into joining us, because of the roads are bad according to some of the truckers that have been down that canyon. That it is only going to get worse as the day progress that if we were heading that way now would be the time to do it. I thought it would be safer if we all went up at the same time.”

He nodded as or breakfast was being served. “Man I am glad you married me, or I would be losing my mind and not knowing what to do.”

She reached over and patted his cheek. “Of course you are dear. Now eat up, it’s going to be a long drive. The way the weather is at the moment.”

We had just finished breakfast as Heidi and Sandy’s family came into the diner. Mr. Larson had bought a map, in case he got lost, not that would be a possibility. The wives visited as we waited for the menfolk to stop gazing over a map that only listed the one main road and several little off roads unsure which one would lead us to my cabin. It was agreed that I would be riding in the lead car because I had been up and down that canyon numerous times, again that was Mrs. Larson’s idea just to get us moving. Eli rode with Sandy’s family because he too had been up and down that canyon, so had Greg and Chad.  As they each got into the other cars so no one would get lost along the way.

It was like the reintroduction of sorts, they all knew each other from church, but not as real closes friends, more like an acquaintance of sorts. Now they had something in common that set them apart from everyone else, listening to their wives giggle in private whispers of learning that they were into nudism. Thinking all this time they were just church friends and their kids all go to the same school. Sandy introduced or reintroduced her two brothers Lance and Sam who were it our age group as me and Eli as well as most of our friends.

Lance was 17. A year older than his sister Sandy and would 18 in July. His hair was darker blond more of a very light brown with green eyes compared to his sister and mothers light blue eyes. He was the same height as me and Eli and the same build that said he worked out a lot with soft curvatures around his face, almost Ken like in Barbie doll comparison. His brother Sam had just turned 16 at the beginning of October, matching his brother's green eyes, and had more chiseled complexion and was maybe an inch or so taller and a smaller build than his brother Lance.

His father Herald Randal also worked with Mr. Larson as a telephone repairman; was a head taller than his boys and his wife Carol. Strong build, and a hard complexion that seemed carved from stone, but very robust handsome feel to it. Green eyes, flat chin, and cheekbones that gave away to full, but thin lips hidden slightly under a caterpillar mustache. Dark brown hair in neatly trimmed to hides the slight balding in the front. Compared to his wife hair long and gathered into a nice bun the color of mixed honey and caramel, all and all a very beautiful wife and family.

Then there was Heidi’s family; it which only consisted of her mothers Brenda and her and three brothers Roger, Troy, and Andy. All having a similar build husky and long arms and legs stating they would all be tall men when they reached their height. Roger had recently turned 14, making Sandy the oldest at 16 almost 17 in February; Troy who was 12 and his brother Andy who was 7.

Andy was her half brother from unplanned pregnancy, from one of the guys she had last dated, who abused her and dumped his sorry a*s, but no one said anything or treated him any different. To her and her family, he was much her brother as her other two brothers in spite that his hair was jet black with brown eyes compared to everyone else’s blue eyes while everyone else’s hair was basically a soft brown, with a face so adorable he would be lady killer when he gets older.

Their father had been killed in the Vietnam War and she never remarried. She did have many boyfriends but, most of them ran away the moment she told them she was a born again nudist. You would think that would have turned a guy on always seeing her naked, but when he found out that she was raising her four kids as nudist; they all freaked out. My father would have had a nuclear meltdown if he knew how many born again nudist actually lived in Santaquin, or throughout the state of Utah.

Everyone thinks that Utah is just chucked full of Mormons, and believed to have several wives and husbands, or we had horns and worshiped the devil. The truth be known Utah is just like anywhere else, with the same demographics. It may have been started by the Mormons, and they did believe in polygamy, but that was over 200 years ago, a lot has changed since then. Yet is true that F-LDS Church still exists practicing polygamy and mixed in with Amish cultured society, but that is only a very small percentage less than one percent of the population of Utah. Even smaller are the people that believe in nudism as a way of life.

Once we got on our way it seemed the weather got worse the closer we came to Heber. Personally, I was glad I wasn’t the one driving as the snow came down hard known as a whiteout that came in spurts. First would be clear then the next you were lucky to see 5 feet in front of you and the roads were slick in some places, but for the most part the roads were clear, but you could see that it had been snowing none stop seeing the sides of the roads where the snow plow had pushed up the snow along the banks.

Mr. Larson said he was glad we had decided to come now instead of waiting until later in the day, and personally, I couldn’t blame him. It would have been only an hour drive, but with the road conditions, it was more like a two-hour drive, before we actually pulled into Heber. The downtown was packed with cars and I could see several new shops that weren’t there before or was in the process of being built one of them was Stringum’s hardware with a sign that said coming soon with plastic over the windows to keep people from looking inside.

Right next to it was an insurance and real estate company with the name of Earl and Benson on the logo. Across the street where another store that sold herbs and bath and body oils and salts with the name Dr. Sars & Carrion bath, herbs and body treatments with two larger stores being built with signs that would sell sporting goods and winter clothing. Further on down was furniture, electronics store saying coming soon. Our cabin was about 10 miles from town.

Right away I could see the changes. As we drove through the first gate that was nothing more than a cattle ranch gate that said private property. Not far from that was a small trailer park with several new trailers that said Golden Crest Estates Trailer Park.

Right away I could see Stringum had been busy counting at least 15 trailers and several empty spots for more as men were busy in spite of the snow… building a white cinder-block wall around it and installing lamppost as well as a large rec center with indoor-outdoor pool, still under constructions. The yards were small but spacious. And many of the trailers and lots were up for sale. We drove past it and climbed higher up the mountain until we passed another road that said Heber Meadows, where they were building several new high-end cabins.

We kept driving further up the road where the main gate was that would lead us to my cabin. Where there was with two large columns on either side with long cinder-block and metal fence that said danger high voltage that seemed to go on about a mile before turning until it ran into a tall chain link where construction was still working to enclose the property but due to the snow there was no one there, and every few feet were new shrub trees up against the completed fence. In front of the two columns were two large gates with keypad for a card and number password. Beyond the fence was a small guard house, we waited for the man inside to come out since we didn’t have a card or a password to get in.

The moment the guard checked our names and saw Mr. Larson’s driver license and wrote down our licenses plates of each of the cars. He signaled his buddy to open the gate handing us a red plastic card with a number on it and told Mr. Larson to put in the window, so we could go up to our cabin. There were a total of three stops, as each guard wrote down the number of the red cards for each of the cars, and our license plates, before going on through the gates.

Mr. Larson asked me why all the security checkpoints. I said. “To keep the bad people out.” He already knew most of it, however, I didn’t tell him and his family all of it. Not until he had talked to Dad and signed on the dotted line. Once we were on the main road that would lead us to my cabin I noted that it had been paved all the way down to the main gate; I couldn’t believe that had been almost week since I had been here seeing all the changes and the work being done.

Already one of the cabins was almost completed with the name of Tomas on the mailbox and the Earls looked like it was almost halfway. The roof was on and the framework was nearly completed, with most of the windows in. The ones that weren’t were covered with plastic and so was the door so the workman could go in and out easily. All the cabins were log-built on the outside and some wood frame at the entrance and brickwork.

It was like building with Lagos which allowed the cabins to be built faster than most large houses. The barn was up, and I could see several pins around the back of it and a large chicken coop. Our four horses were nowhere to be seen, which meant they most likely were inside the barn keeping nice and warm with the other animals. I could see our large horse trailer parked next to it and Shane’s truck covered with a tarp and covered with snow.

We had passed the main staging area where large trucks carried the logs prefabricated for quick install; which was more like half a log and the other half with insulation. Plus it was the main storage warehouse that was built to store everything until their cabins were built, plus the building equipment for the contractor. Next to it were several trailers to house the builders so they wouldn’t have to drive back and forth up the canyon and a large framed tent that was their main dining faculty. I noticed the sign of three large contracts stating whom Stringum had hired to build his housing development.

Further up the hill from our cabin, we noticed Bishop Earls house being built which was huge almost… if not larger then ours with one and a half floors, compared to our one main floor and small wine cellar. In the back were a small indoor pool and hot tub built like an atrium, with plenty of lighting from the windows, for now, it was all framework, while the main work was being made to build the main living section. Further up the mountain was another huge cabin that looked to be double the size of Bishop Earl’s places. I knew it had to be Stringum as he wanted something that he could live comfortably in and still throw his extravagant parties.

It was nearly 8:30 am when we pulled up to my cabin, Mr. and Mrs. Larson gasped seeing the size of it, they already nearly died seeing the other cabins on the way up and everything going on and couldn’t believe how big the Earls new home was, compared to their old one. I said. “Wait until you see the inside, of our cabin,” watching my adoptive parents come out to greet us and my dog Sparky. As we quickly bundled up, noticing the temperature drop compared to what it was in Santaquin and compared to what it was when I was here a week ago.

Mom and Bishop Earl’s wife as well as Mrs. Vincent quickly opened the door to greet us as Sparky made a beeline towards me as he barked and whined telling me how bad I was for leaving him behind as his tail wagged so fast I thought it was going to fly off as he jumped on me and everyone else, begging them to pay attention to him. Mom said. “You would think you were gone forever the way he was acting,” as she hugged me kissing everywhere my head wasn’t covered. It felt good to be home again knowing I was safe, safer then I had been in days.

I quickly made the introduction, more like reintroduction regarding Heidi and Sandy’s family. It was the first time they had met the Larson’s even though they had met Ben and at the party, they hadn’t met his family as Mom quickly told us to bring everything in before we freeze to death. Telling me Dad and they were at work in town. I stated I noticed the new stores, also stating that things had changed quite a bit since the last time I was home. She said more than she ever thought possible, but then again we knew Stringum and Mr. Vincent. If they wanted something done quickly, it would be.

Once inside she cringed seeing the mud and the snow we had tracked in. She smiled when everyone removed their shoes without being told. It stated that they too had the same standers as the rest of us. The house was quiet being so early in the morning, as Mom quickly said that all the kids were in school well at least the younger ones like Jason and Jonathan’s age. He was in preschool and would be in kindergarten next year, once he turns 5. Like me Jared and I would be attending High school, I would be a Jr. and he would be a freshman being in the 9th grade here.

If we were still in Highland he would be in Jr. High, but here they only go as far as the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Jason would be in the 7th grade. They hadn’t gone to the block schedule yet here in Jr. High but they have in High Schools. Payson Jr. High and High School had just started the block schedule… whereas I at the time had already had been it for nearly 3 years at Lehi and American Fork. The only ones home were Jared, everyone else was in school, or in town working, stocking shelves in the new stores. Instead of sitting around doing nothing when there was tons of work to be done.

Jared would have gone with them, but like me, we weren’t allowed to go anywhere without our wheelchairs, because it was our main cover story. I wasn’t a Rothwell anymore once we had crossed into Heber. I was Nate Carrion outside these walls; which was something I hadn’t told Larson family or two girls Heidi and Sandy or their families. That part of my life was kept a secret, not knowing who to trust. Even though I trusted the Larson family, I preferred that they didn’t know until Mom and Dad said it was ok.
