Pure Evil

Part 2

My father spent almost the entire week in the hospital before they let him come home. Like Mom, I was asked if I wanted to press charges against my father for stabbing me. I said no, that there was no real harm done to me, but left a warning if he ever tried to do something like that again that I wouldn’t hesitate either by pressing charges or kill him. Even though family counseling hasn’t worked in the past Mom and him and my sisters were told to seek help, hoping to diffuse the powder keg.  I knew they were wasting their time and I have yet to really have a successful home-visit whenever my father or sisters were home.

I do know that feeling that something bad was going to happen was still ever present, I had first thought it had something to do with the fight between me and my father, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. It was Thursday having no further incidents here, and it would be four days before I was to go back on that following Monday at 4 pm. When I received a phone call asking my mother to keep me home until they could decide what to do about a problem at home that had to do something with the three bad boys.

Even though my father didn’t want me there any longer then I had to be, neither did he say one word other than growl painfully at me and Mom and quickly backed away from me to almost a flinch state if I even looked like I would rip him to pieces. It seems that my role had changed from victim to the monster in his and my sister's eyes. Personally, I couldn’t blame him if it was me I would run knowing I was a lethal weapon.

I didn’t know what the problem was, but I knew something must have happened that my foster parents didn’t want me even near the house. That in itself told me that they were hiding something from me if it wasn’t for Shane and my two younger brothers showing up on the front door of my mother's house. I had no doubt I would have still been left in the dark and personally I would have killed Danny learning what had happened, cameras or no cameras for what he had done to my sister Jody.

Somehow Danny had disabled most of the cameras in the house during the time Shane, Mom, and Dad was out shopping, just finishing Shane’s list of the of things he was going to need for his mission. He was scheduled to be ordained an elder the following Sunday and to attended the temple for his endowments on Tuesday (you can find what endowments are at LDS. Org) and would be going to the MTC the following Friday.

When they had arrived home Jody was practically naked had been tranquilized and dragged out to the middle of the field and raped repeatedly by Danny and a couple of his friends. Who took off seeing them pull up into the driveway all splitting off in different directions? Dad and Shane only got a good look at the other boy. But the other one they didn’t get closes enough to verify, but had a pretty good idea. The important thing was Jody before they could go on a manhunt.

No one knows for sure how Danny got out of his locked room because the cameras were down, but the only persons home were Shawn and Arthur, Arthur was still locked up tight, but Shawn’s door had been monkeyed with. The cameras only showed Shawn leaving the room and entering my foster parent’s bedroom and long enough to disable the live feed outside and the basement and quickly return to his room right before the power went down. The smug b******s stood long enough in the hallway to flip both his fingers to the camera before it too went down showing him going back inside his room; establishing an alibi having no doubt watching his sister being raped from his window.

Dad quickly ordered Mom to take Jody to the hospital and Shane to pick up his younger brothers and drive as far away from the house as possible. Telling him he did not want blood on his hands being so close to going to the temple and entering the MTC. Shane argued about it Telling Dad that Jody is his baby sister and had as much right to see justice done going on a manhunt for the ones responsible.

Dad and Shane wasted no time starting the manhunt once Jody and Mom were quickly on their way to the hospital, Dad and Shane had to carry her to the car because she was under the tranquilizer and didn’t know all her injuries due to all the blood running down her legs and exposed chest.

We didn’t have to ask if it was one of the missing ones. Yet they couldn’t be sure until a proper search was done, their main concern was Jody and locating the boys responsible. They couldn’t call for an ambulance because both the phones were ripped off the wall and their cords were used to bind Jody’s ankles and hands. It would take longer to run down the street and pound on someone’s door and wait for help to arrive by the time they got here, Mom could have driven her to the hospital at top speed.

Dad and Shane wasted no time as they quickly searched the property going in the direction that Danny had fled. When they did find Danny he was halfway down the street and couple of blocks from Bishop Crawford’s house. Dad always kept a tranquilizer gun on hand that they use on escaping criminals or runaway foster boys. After Dad spotted him he shot Danny in the back and they both watched him fall to the ground.

When they reached him Dad had Shane pull Dads car up to the curb and quickly tossed Danny into the back seat. Dad locked the doors preventing Shane from getting in the car. Telling Shane to go home get into his truck and pick up his younger brothers at their friend's house and call the police and tell them what Danny and this other kid did and wait for him; drove off leaving Shane at the curb.

By the time the Police arrived at the scene of the crime, there was alert over the police radio to respond to a runway in progress. Shane stood there waiting what seemed like hours but was only minutes, when Dad pulled into the driveway alone, shouting that Danny had run away and needed to locate his monitoring device that he was getting mixed signals to where he is located, and that he was having a hard time finding a payphone that worked.

Shane knew it was a lie even more so when Dad had on a different shirt and a new pair of pants. When they found Danny his face was a mess covered in blood, with several broken bones and his ankle bracelet was lying on top of him. Shane had no doubt that Dad friends had something to do with it, or had any doubts that Dad himself was responsible for some of Danny’s injuries. Dad was arrested, but soon released not finding anything to prove he had something to do with Danny’s injuries, but there would be investigation once they comb through all the tapes.

It would be a while before the power was restored finding the breaker box smashed and several of wires pulled out and cut inside Mom and Dads room. They are hoping they had enough evidence on tape and more with a rape kit as well who her rapist were besides some of Jody’s blood was still on Danny’s underwear and skin, as well as Jody’s testimony proving Danny and his two friends were guilty, for the moment test,  had to be run and statements had to be taken to prove that Danny and the two boys with him were guilty of said crime and that could take days or weeks Dad said he would call in favors to get done faster, but even he couldn’t work some miracles.

When asked about Shawn, all Jody could say he was locked in his room, unable to prove that he was involved only saw Danny and the two of the boys before coming into the house uninvited before they raped her and tranquilizer. She was beyond hysteric having to keep her sedated enough to keep her calm, and it would be days before she would be released from the hospital or give a complete statement.

One the reason Dad sent Shane and my two younger brothers here. Mom and Dad would have to spend every waking moment at the hospital and for the moment, Shawn is being charged for vandalism and being accused of helping Danny commit the crime.

All I can say I hope he likes being behind bars because that’s his future, as far as Arthur is concerned he has been placed in the state hospital for evaluation and treatment and will be up to the Rothwell’s and the family courts to decide where he will reside in the future. Dad and Mom still hope with Danny out of the picture that we as a family can heal.

Personally, I had no doubt Dad would have slit their throats and our brothers would help peel their skin off as we slowly torture them to death. I hate to say I smiled when I heard about Danny’s injuries that were quite extensive from a broken jaw to both his hands and fingers being broken. That it would be months before he would be able to eat solid food or write, even longer before he could talk without jumbled words while his jaw is wired shut. All he was able to say was he beat up by big men wearing ski masks before they took him inside the hospital.

According to Shane, he looked like a mummy with so many bandages that you barely saw any skin that was left untouched. I can also say he’ll need laxatives for the rest of his life and could be peeing into a bag until he is old a gray. Death would have been too kind. Either way, I missed my chances to get a piece of him and I didn’t care if I had blood on my hands for doing it.  I didn’t have to ask if he would be back it was simply implied that I would never see him again unless it was behind bars.

I had a bad feeling that Bishop Crawford was somehow linked to this because someone was aiding Shawn and Danny to pull off such an elaborate stunt than again all we had was suspicion, not actual proof. The fact that Danny was on his way to Bishop Crawford’s house who had arrived with the paramedics with Danny and several police officers to stand guard in case Dad wanted to finish the job, told the Officers not to let any of the Rothwell’s near him. When Bishop Crawford saw Shane, he literally kicked Shane out of the room the second he entered calling the cops to escort Shane out of the hospital and was in the processes of getting Danny removed to another hospital, asking charges to be brought on Shane and I and all the Rothwell’s, that alone should have said he was in on it from the get go..

By the time my caseworker showed up at my door to relay the news to me and my mother regarding my extended stay, we already had heard most of it from Shane and my two younger brothers. My caseworker asked if would be alright for them to stay here until she can make other arrangements for Jared and Jason to stay with their sister Kerry who is right now refusing to leave her sister's side.

Shane, on the other hand, was old enough to be considered an adult and the State had no say in where he went. Other than home where at the moment is a scene of the crime would only be allowed in with a Police escort to gather his and his brother's belongings. And would be going back and forth to visit his sister and help take care of his younger brothers until his sister was released or he had entered the MTC.

My father growled. “Hell no, I will not let that immoral filth in my house, they can “G.Dam” go straight to hell and live on the f’n streets. We are not a f’n hotel for perverts and murders.”

Mom said. “It will be just fine, we will do just that… boys were going camping.” Stood up and walked to the kitchen and placed a call to Officer Kenly telling him that they needed assistance. Mom said hanging up the phone telling Aaron and me to pack enough clothes for the entire week. Then asked my caseworker if camping as a family counted as a safe place to stay for my two younger brothers.

All she said was “sign here Mrs. Shepherd,” handing her a check for thousand dollars for her inconvenience to provide food, clothing, and roof over their heads.

She was just leaving as Officer Kenly pulled into the driveway. Mom quickly broke down the situation. Having him radio in an escort from the State Police and another to a buddy of his Officer Knox. Who I had only met once in church, but would soon become a dear friend of Aaron and me in the near future. When Officer Knox arrived he gave him orders to watch our house and more so my father and my sisters if they decided to skip town said. “Yes sir, they will not leave my sight, not on my watch.”

Parked his car in front of our house and made himself comfortable.  When the State Police arrived to escort Shane home so he could get the things he needed for him and his two brothers. Considering his house was a crime scene, he needed permission to enter and take note of what he had taken from the property.

The houses were a flurry of activity as Officer Kenly helped Aaron and load all our camping gear into his and our car, While Mom was on the phone getting an update from my foster parents on Jody’s condition and to inform them where we will be. Dad told Shane that my new watch was in the glove compartment of his car to make damn sure I was wearing it before we left town. He may trust my mother, mostly he trusted her, enough to take care of his sons, but told her if one hair of their heads was harmed in any way he would personally kill her. It was not just a threat it was a promise.

Mom had no doubt he would follow through even more so hearing what had happened to Danny. Mom said. She would die before anything happened to me or my brothers. Told him if made him feel better that Officer Kenly and his family would be joining us. Which was new to me and him, but he didn’t say no. Asked her to hand him the phone, he said. “Mr., Rothwell I will guarantee their safety if I have to watch her at gunpoint and shot first and ask question later.”
