A Poem by Corrupthoughts
"

Don't rally me

"

Feed me your lies, and I will survive on spite
Give me your time, and I will waste away another day

Diluted delusions, coupled with genius integrity
we are what we are.
Yet not at all far from meaningless.

Teach me your fears, and I will relish in your duality
Speak to me your prayers, and I will show you true obscenity.

Faith to hate, your words laid to waste
Past to present, a savior for sinners.
We are what we are
Yet not at all far from ignorant

"Yet not at all far from meaningless."

This is why I believe we make our own meaning in this world. A quote from the Greek philosopher Protagoras gives me my inspiration, "Of all things, Man is the measure."

"Speak to me your prayers, and I will show you true obscenity."

Yes, the obscenity of relinquishing our brains and wills to superstition instead using them to change the truth of your last line.

Not at all far. Too close for comfort, in fact.

Very thought -provoking words, and I really do like being made to think.
