To Divinity and Beyond

To Divinity and Beyond

A Poem by Shelly Braen

Like wings of fire, furious do we flare the skies

The brilliance of one moment, rippling through our feet

Rushing on a current of hope, roaring in extravagant splendor

Joy in stolen freedoms

Take to the roots, and climb their trunks, FEEL their touch

Fill the mighty columns of ancient dreams, and breathe life into their stone

Cry triumph out through our letters to beloved strangers

Hands clasped in masses, iridescent of mind

Beauty nested in sequoia challenges

Eagerly, we rise

I like the compact nature of this poem. The old established are worth understanding. Use them as a basis to climb to the heavens or push forward. Just my take on this.
