I AmA Poem by Shelly BraenMy return from the abyss.
I am that I am, I live in lunacy, I live in love, I perpetuate the awfulness of it all, Shining until it turns into beauty, I am the soul of you, I am the brink of destruction, And the filler of redemption, The statue that watches, The vines that cradle, The blue that haunts your sleep, I will fight for your life, And destroy my own, I am humiliation, The sound of the night’s cry, I am the thrum of every heart, And the thunder in the silence, I am the price you pay, The breath that stops, The eyes that close, And the head that turns away, I come from everywhere, Yet I have been nowhere, And never the less, I seemingly find everything, Everything of yours, The world, In my world, And where fixation never lies, I am forever and never, In this iron fascination, Tumbling on quills, Divine flora and fauna, The unceasing redemption, I am that I am.
