Morning In Paris

Morning In Paris

A Poem by Jason Grey
"

Traveled to Paris and found that the city likes to sleep in

"

An empty subway
With quiet streets above
Not a soul has stirred
And they will remain unruffled

Until the sun drifts
Its light fingers over
The Louvre
And glisten through
Notre Dame

But now
Even the swift Sienne
Lies dormant

It will not take long
Until the subways
Rumble
The streets
Bustle
And Notre Dame’s
Bells toll

But for the morning
The soul of Paris
Is still
