Word Catcher

Word Catcher

A Poem by Jason Grey
"

My Profession

"

I am the word catcher.
I snatch words out of the air
And pin them to paper,
They look so pretty there.

Rolling off tongues and
Flying off books,
They’re everywhere.

But I’ve already caught
The boring ones.

Instead I hunt
Exotic,
Interesting,
And new words.

The dictionary is my
Playground.
Letting me catch words as they
Float from the pages.

Pinned with pens
My display lies in
Notes and
Books.

Each of them
Part of me
Waiting to be free
