Prejudice

Prejudice

A Poem by Jason Grey
"

What we must overcome.

"

I am an Atheist,

But you only hear “Heathen”

I am gay,

And you think “F*g”

I am homeless,

Bt you smell only Garbage.

I am African,

And you only see my Skin.

I am Irish,

So you think “Drunk”.

I am a woman,

And you see an Object.

I am deaf,

You hear Dumb as well.

I am blind,

And you feel I’m Lost.

I say that I am Muslim,

And you feel Terror.

But,

I look at you,

And see my parents world.

But mine is different.

Eyes are opening,

Ears are listening,

And hearts are changing.

My world is ready for change

The youth,

Have broken down the walls of bigotry

And are waiting,
Waiting for our parents to walk though.
