Flicker

Flicker

A Poem by Shelby Noël
"

Had to write a 100 word poem for English class and this is what I came up with. Enjoy xx

"
The crackling flames of the fireplace
And the shining, yellow light.
The candle glows dimly in the sill
And wishes to be bright.

The candle dims at the grim thought that he shall not last,
Last to see the upland slopes of springing grass.

The fireplace notices the candle's dismay,
And whispers gently, "A candle's light is like no other light."
The candle reignites and his flames calmly sway,
Slowly left and right.

"The moment is brief!"
The snow flurries weep
As the winds blow through the room.
The young flame goes out
As the fireplace shouts,
"His light is gone too soon!"

Good job!

You have used nice imagery to create a whimsical narrative.
