cupids chokehold

cupids chokehold

A Poem by Shelby Taylor

Gasping for another breath
hearing only the voice of death

Nervous hands with a different feel

Couldn’t imagine any of this to be real

A twisted look fell upon the face

Puts them both in a different place

The heart fell cold while the blood still rose

It hurt to know this is what fate had chose.

The breaking of promises,

The breaking of bones

Finally hearing him,

With a different tone.

The laughter rang throughout the room

This day will end differently then she had presumed.

A broken smile, a faded night

A single tear fell, danced between the light.

His heart had broken, her mind had fled,

Couldn’t remember a thing that was said.

He’s still held close, not going to be let go

Laughed at the madness….some things you never know.
