Runaway

Runaway

A Poem by Shelby Taylor

I'll run so far away from this place and never look back
Forget about the life I use to have and my past

Running so swiftly that I'm slowly fading

Falling beyond behind is what I'm hating

Feet pounding so hard on the ground below me
The horizon in front seems so distant I can't see

Then you have the nerve to look back, standing there

Where were you when I needed you, where?

You don't come chasing after me, maybe never
Hopefully you'll stay where you are and that way forever

Cause if you do so come after me ill be afraid
Soon doing my same old routine, cutting with a blade

I don't want you back in my old same despair
That’s what I'm trying to get away from, trying to repair

So Ill runaway into tomorrow, down this old track
Don't try to catch me and I'll just never look back
