Adam and Eve's Real PlightA Poem by ShelbyAdam and Eve First love of the world. Don’t you wish You had that title? No. Adam spent Every single f*****g day With Eve, What can I say? I’d rather pay With a few broken hearts The choice to choose Than to play those sorry parts. Poor Eve Never knew the difference She never understood How he was a hindrance. I would hate Never knowing what it was To have to date Eighty different guys. Young Adam Could have been a ladies’ man He never knew And now he never can. To take advantage Of every single night, A different partner Every morning light; What a way To spend a day Trying to decide Who will be your guide Staying by your side Until the morning tide. And never knowing Which one will stick around Love is growing With a random guy you found. Adam and Eve, Perhaps they were their soul mates, But I wonder Would they envy all our play mates? Did they fight? Did they loathe each others’ sight? Was Eve right In taking that first bite? I can’t know, But I know this to be true: Poor Adam and Eve, I’d die if I were you. © 2011 ShelbyReviews
