I Have a Secret

I Have a Secret

A Poem by Shelby

I have a secret

I won’t give up my net just yet

Because I have a secret.

My mind wanders

My brain ponders and wonders

I because I know what’s under

My blanket at home

The home were I’ll roam

Into the arms

The silenced alarms and uninformed harms

Of my little secret.

At home is my sect

Where I recollect what it is in my hectic

Apartment of furtive

Moments and wildly assertive

Groping I keep hidden

The traverse where I’ve ridden where I’ve been bidden

And I let myself be directed

My mind be affected

No longer protected from all that’s rejected

By my secret.

I cannot be frightened

My heart won’t be tightened by my worry when heightened

For my dark world is lightened

And naught I’ll regret

As long as I have my secret.
