Smoke and Mirrors

Smoke and Mirrors

A Poem by Shelby

Love feels so good

When your smile mirrors mine

The haze surrounding life

You've somehow cleared away

Taking the smoke

Into your hands

And using it for your

Own devices

If only I could see through

Our smoke and mirrors love.

Shalby has great words -- short--filled with passion. Very heartfelt, and deeply intriguing. I must admit when I read the tittle I found myself wondering if this work was of magic, filled with mystic magicians and rabbits being pulled out of their hats.

i am often left wondering who, or when, or what with your words.......i find myself spacing out for a few moments, not realizing that i am finished reading it......you take the reader on a trip, yes, mirroring our own reflections......how can words be so effective in describing others feelings??? well this is poetry, well done shelby.........thank you...k

Very nice. Love and doubt...an unnerving place to be. A complete poem. Excellent.

Ooh, I like this. The last line was such a change in tone from the rest of it. The line about using the smake for "your/Own devices" made me think of a snake charmer, which foretells the coming of that last line, since snake charming is about illusion. Well done.
