Nightime Torment

Nightime Torment

A Poem by Shelby

I cried last night

And I don’t know why

My bed was drenched

In tears unnamed.

Help me Daddy

Tell me what I did wrong

I’m sitting here in unsung fear

Slowly reinforcing

The walls built around me

In curlicues and spirals

The lovely maze of my

Unlovely mind

And ghosts I cannot acknowledge

Wander the halls of my defense

Examining the skeletons I

Forgot to hide in my closet

And in the center I lie

In wait

For what prince-

Charming or no-

Should interest himself in my plight.

But if none were

To come, I shall wither away

Till night becomes day

And I will cry

And never say why.

your best yet......how do you come up with this stuff? remember this dear friend (i know this from experience) your heart can only be broken once......it may get hurt again, but once its broken, its broken........no they do not heal all the way either, they just get stronger, and can never be broken again......well this is what ive been told, so take it as another broken hearted lesson, to learn or share.......yeah, i like this poem, say so much by saying so little.......bravo
