Nightime TormentA Poem by ShelbyI cried last night And I don’t know why My bed was drenched In tears unnamed. Help me Daddy Tell me what I did wrong I’m sitting here in unsung fear Slowly reinforcing The walls built around me In curlicues and spirals The lovely maze of my Unlovely mind And ghosts I cannot acknowledge Wander the halls of my defense Examining the skeletons I Forgot to hide in my closet And in the center I lie In wait For what prince- Charming or no- Should interest himself in my plight. But if none were To come, I shall wither away Till night becomes day And I will cry And never say why. © 2011 ShelbyReviews
