You Lied

This is about my brother, who got a college education and is now jobless, moneyless, and depending on me, his younger sister, for money, phone access, etc. He's become slightly cynical.

You lied.

You told me I HAD

To go to college.

You told me I

Could not live without

A college education.

You lied.

College has become

A waste of my time,

Of my money,

Of my patience.

I'm sorry

I listened to you.

I should have known

That community college would

Be enough.

I should have seen through your

False hope.

I'm lost in a sea

Of useless facts

And figures,

Working at this or that job,

Each far below my skill-level,

Turned down from jobs that

A simple high school graduate

Will and can do,

Cheaper.

You lied.

And I am paying for it.

Many are in similar situations. It shouldn't be this way, there should be jobs waiting for all of us, especially those that work so hard to get a good education, and if there isn't enough jobs, the system is not working, it is time for a change. This is great writing to spread awareness.

try not to hold anything inside for more than five minutes, if you do, it becomes burdensome for you also........let it go.....you know what to do to feel better.....strum some tunes......sing some notes.....the time it takes you to write your words, should be just enough time to neutralize the anger, or fear, or frustration that binds you and leads you to such brilliant expression, i commend you on your strenth and abilities........i just see that you might be something like me, and you dont give in too easily, but its easier to smile and laugh then it is to frown, Keoni...
