This Poem Is For YouA Poem by ShelbyThis poem is for you. The summer has come and gone And I've lost you in winter. Calling out, I hope you hear And follow my fear To me. They would say you're gone for good That I am calling into empty air They would say we're too far Seperated by too much To ever touch Again They would say I'll never reach you Through these dark and stormy months And in many ways They are right. But nothing has ever felt So wrong As it does right now. You were meant to be held Safe and warm in my arms And so I cry that you are not, The tears freezing on my face. I believe that life will survive And love must prevail That my voice will carry you Back to me Bringing with you the sun. But love does not seem alive In these cold, desolate plains And I call in vain. Where are you, love? When will this winter end? How will I find you if snow is all I see? This, my poem for you Is all I have left. And silence is all that answers my call. © 2011 Shelby |
