If I Could, I would

If I Could, I would

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr
"

For my brother

"

If I could, I would go back in time

To see your face again, some happines I'll find

I miss you so much, you've been gone so long

I wish you could be here, when I sing your song

If I could, I would bring you back to life

Even for a moment, or just for a night

You were the greatest brother in the world to me

You were bigger than life, so loving and carefree

When you died, my heart broke in two

For the end of your journey, had come for you

Now that you're gone, life isn't the same

It's like a knife to my heart, when I speak your name

Author's Note

Sheila Marie Carr
I never knew losing a love one could hurt so much....my brother died in 2005 of AIDS, in the last 4 months of his life he live with our mother on hospice. To watch him die that way was horrible, the worst was knowing he was going to die, but he was happy to have his family there with him in the end...

Very well done.
This actually made me cry.
I thought of my Grandfather, though.
He passed just about a year ago.
Your choice of words was amazing.
This needs to be published so more people can be touched by it.
