Never To Love Again

Never To Love Again

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr

When I fell, I fell so hard

I gave him everything

But he broke my heart

I put him so high, upon a pedestal

Never thought the day

That he would somehow fall

So many years, so much time

I lost everything, almost lost my mind

I wish I can go back

And do it over again

Now it's too late

My life has reached it's end

To late to start all over

There's no need to even pretend

The fact still remains

I'm never to love again

When you have put 25 years into a relationship that has been abusive in so many ways, then you give up hope. That person have taken everything that you can give and you're left with nothing but emptiness...
