My Heartbreak

My Heartbreak

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr

Why do you have to break my heart

Render my soul and tear it apart

Beat me down with your words of hate

Counting the days to end my fate

What did I do to make you so mad

You were the only friend, I ever had

Please tell me and help me understand

Rise to the occassion, be an honest man

My heart breaks for you, with sorrow and grief

As I mourn the fact, that you don't love me

The uncertainty is killing, my heart and soul

As my eyes get heavy and silently close
