Writer's Cafe

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr
"

A poem for everyone here at writer's cafe

"

To everyone on Writer's Cafe

Thank you for opening a passageway

To express myself in my writings and all

First time, in a long time, I'm having a ball

I don't have any friends, that I can talk to

So I appreciate the thoughts from all of you

It's a lonely world when your'e living in a box

Caged like an animal, behind pad locks

My life is pathetic and serious in need

Of a true friendship, someone who really believes

Not just in me, but what is truly real

That life is worth living, in what we feel

I have exposed my heart to the unknown

To judge or criticize, I'm out of my zone

So whatever you think of me, will be O.K.

For I have found some life, at Writer's Cafe

Sheila, some of the best friends I have are right here at the Cafe and I am glad you are here. Unlike many things, writing is something that anyone can do and what we have written is something that we can leave behind. I share your aspirations and desire to learn from others here at the Cafe.

This piece rings true for the way I feel sometimes. This was a wonderful piece. Very well written.

I'm so glad I read this! Not only is it really a good write, I feel so much the same way. What a great job you did of sending a message in a poetic form. It was really clever and come off exceptionally well. I just love your last line, "For I have found some life at Writer's Cafe." That really says so much in itself.

I really love this poem and how it clearly displays all your feelings and emotions about this place. I've got to say, I'm new to this site and I'm really cautious about it all, so the first two lines of the last stanza really got to me, you know? You voiced some of my own opinions. :) Great poem, and thanks for sharing.

I liked this poem very profound, honest and to the point with some appreciation of what a community can do how it can help the lonely soul in reality we are all in the same boat here.
If our lives were complete and happy we wouldn't need a site like this we would be out every day enjoying the bounty of life,if friends were not so isolated and keeping themselves in their insecure existence we would be round by their side and talking chatting and enjoying their company.
Well done for reaching out and expressing your opinions and opening your heart for that you deserve my respect and friendship alone.

Love it, love it, love it! I love to see a writer, an "artist", if I can say so....put themself out there and say, "hey, this is me..."....true beauty lies within your words here...and trust me, with me, you have a fan and a friend. Excellent work....I look forward to reading many many more from you!
