A Mother's Prayer

A Mother's Prayer

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr
"

For my children

"

God bless my children and keep them safe

Guide them through life, each and everyday

I pray that they seek you, through guidance in life

To walk down that road, tribulation and strife

Grant them salvation, according to their hearts

May the praise you, thank you and never depart

For in times of trouble, you are always there

To protect them from danger, and the burdens they bare

Let the words of my mouth, the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in thy sight, when I pray from the start

I'm  thankful for your blessing, and I know that you care

Thank you for listening, to A Mother's Prayer

There is nothing in this world like a mother's love for her children...even though they are 24, 22, and 21, I still worry and pray for them.

Well said! Speaking as a mom of ten, ranging from age 3 to 25, I can really identify with your worry no matter how old or young they are. As you pointed out, you worry about the spiritual as well as the physical, and having no other control over the matter, we turn their well being over to God. A beautiful poem.

Wow! But you don't look enough to have children those ages. Not flirting..just being honest! BTW I agree with your statement, a mother's love is unconditional and everlasting. My mother was my best friend. She's been gone for 4 years now, but I feel her love surrounding me to this day. Thanks for reminding me how beautiful that will always be. VERY nice work Sheila. You do all mother's proud.

No matter how old your kids are, mom's will still worry about their kids. My mom and her mom are prime examples of that. What a beautiful piece. Great job with this.
