A poem, remembering the days when we were trapped in catastrophic floods of Kashmir 2014.A Poem by Sheikh Meelad
With fear in our hearts, we all were holding each other tight,
It was the massive floods which had struck us at night. It was scary, to see my home being drowned, Seeing my temple that way, i had just frowned. It is hard to express that feeling when you lose everything, Water took it all, here and there. Where now shall i find my belongings. We were all scared and trapped on the second floor, With our eyes down, looking at that devastating water shore. I had earlier thought, water was an essential part of life, When in huge strength, it took no time to become a sharp knife. Now lets forget about our worldly belongings and strive, I have water on my feet, i only look to survive. It was a tearful destruction for us from the nature, Or was i a hero, considering this as a fantasy adventure. Witnessing those scary events, i didn't want to bear it any longer, But suddenly a voice in me said, what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger.. © 2015 Sheikh Meelad |
