Pitch Black NightA Poem by L.G. KnightA song about the loss and gain of innocence.Verse 1: I held on so tight, Thought I'd never let it go, Though it pricked, My bloodied fingers.
My childhood innocence, Gone up in smoke, Wash out like an old, Voice worn singer.
Hook 1: It was s'pposed to be bright, S'pposed to have turned out right, Everything was s'pposed to go my way.
It was gone like a dream, Broken off by a scream, Awakened to a dark and dreary day.
Chorus 1: My wild rose, Yellow turned to black, My everything, I can never have back.
Taken in a moment, When the world seemed so bright, One minute there's sun, And the next, pitch black night.
Verse 2: I can still see it all, Like it was yesterday, His dark blue eyes, Searching mine.
I can still hear, All those words he'd say, Whatever I wanted, At the time.
Hook 2: It was s'possed to be amazing, When I finally felt these things, It wasn't s'possed to be a regret.
I was s'possed to look back, With a nastalgia I lack, When I think of all that I left.
Chorus 2: My wild rose, Yellow turned to black, My everything, I can never have back.
Taken in a moment, When the world seemed so bright, One minute there's sun, And the next, pitch black night.
Bridge: It may not been Quite liked I planned, But it happened, The way it did.
And now I wonder, Have I done all I can, To be mother and father, To our kid.
Chorus 3: My wild rose, Who brought the color back. My everything, Who makes up for all I lack.
Made in a moment, When the world seemed so bright, She's the bright rays, That light up, Pitch black night.
Fade: Only she can light...
The Pitch black night...
