Murderers and ThievesA Poem by L.G. KnightTen years I will sit in this cell surrounded by molestors, murderers and thieves Knowing I don't belong there ne'er puts my mind at ease. Words bounce continuosly off the walls of my cell Words drenched in evil, seemingly straight from the bowels of hell
"The rush of cutting her open was almost more than I could take, And though I knew the police waited outside, I had to finish, So much was at stake." Crazy words from lunatics with nothing in their souls But contempt for all of humand kind, and violence so dark yet bold.
Sure I sliced a man, Shallow cuts to watch him bleed, But this was out of love and devotion not some sick need, I don't deserve to be here but I would ne'er tell anyone that, For should I utter those clichéd words, it would turn her world black.
Had I gotten a life sentence, hurting her is something I would never do, I would sit in this cell forever, till my skin turned cold and blue, I would sit here for eternity, rather than speak a word, That would bring back to her all that Humiliation and hurt.
I sliced a man, shallow cuts to watch him bleed, But I did not slice the man, simply to pleasure me, I slice a man to punish, as the system failed to succeed, I sliced a man to remind him of his dirty dirty deed.
But I can never utter the words, that should be told, If I did, when I returned, I would find her only half whole, So I sit in this cell with murderers, molesters and thieves, Knowing I'll see her again, sets my mind at ease.
